Pelipper, the Water Bird Pokémon, is a sturdy coastal defender found within the Tumblecube region. Known for its massive bill which it uses to carry small Pokémon and eggs, this Pokémon transforms into a formidable elemental threat in battle, using the air and sea to overwhelm challengers.

This encounter features a "Special Tank" strategy with a focus on wide elemental coverage. Pelipper uses its natural bulk to survive hits while utilizing an Expert Belt to significantly boost the damage of its super-effective counters.

Battle Strategy

• Expert Belt Coverage: Pelipper is equipped with an Expert Belt, which increases the damage of super-effective moves by 20%. With Flying, Water, and Ice-type coverage, it can hit a vast majority of the Pokédex for massive damage.
• The Hurricane Risk: Hurricane is a devastating move with a high chance to confuse the target. While it has lower accuracy in normal weather, be wary if the battlefield becomes rainy, as the move will become perfectly accurate.
• Ice Beam Trap: Many trainers bring Electric or Grass-types to counter Pelipper's Water typing; however, Ice Beam is specifically slotted to punish Grass and Dragon-type switch-ins.
• Sustainability: Like many avian bosses, Pelipper can use Roost to recover half its health. It is essential to burst its HP down quickly or use **Taunt** to prevent it from stalling out the battle.
• Electric Weakness: Despite its bulk and coverage, Pelipper remains 4x weak to Electric-type moves. A fast Electric-type with a strong Thunderbolt is the most efficient way to clear this encounter.
