Beartic (Boss Encounters)
Contribution by CronosTkr
Beartic, the Freezing Pokémon, is a massive and intimidating predator found wandering the snow-covered paths of the Tinsel Forest. Capable of freezing its own breath to create fangs and claws of ice, it possesses immense physical strength that can shatter even the thickest frozen lake. On Tinsel Island, it acts as a literal wall of frost for any trainer trying to navigate the woods.
Boss Encounter: Beartic
This encounter features a "Physical Tank" strategy. Beartic relies on its massive HP pool and diverse physical coverage to punish challengers. Unlike the faster residents of the forest, Beartic is a slow, methodical attacker that uses its weight and raw power to crush opposition.

Battle Strategy
- Weight Advantage: Beartic uses its massive size to fuel Heavy Slam. Against smaller or lighter Pokémon, this Steel-type move deals significant damage, making it a dangerous counter to Fairy and Rock types.
- The Icicle Crash Flinch: Its primary STAB move, Icicle Crash, has a 30% chance to flinch the target. Since Beartic is slow, it usually relies on its +2 Boss boost to outpace mid-range threats and fish for these flinches.
- Raw Power vs. Self-Debuff: Beartic can use Superpower to deal massive Fighting-type damage to Steel or Rock types, but it lowers its own Attack and Defense in the process. Use this window to retaliate with Physical moves while its guard is down.
- Anti-Dragon Coverage: With Play Rough, Beartic can effectively deal with Dragon-types that might try to resist its primary Ice-type moves.
- Exploiting Speed: With 0 Speed EVs, Beartic is very slow. You can easily outpace it and strike with powerful Special Fire, Fighting, or Steel moves. Since it holds Leftovers, it is important to commit to a 2-turn knockout to prevent it from recovering too much health.
