Deep Woods is a secluded forest area located to the west of Pallet Town. It is accessible to trainers shortly after obtaining their starter Pokémon and serves as a significant early-game event location.
Description
The Deep Woods is a dense, overgrown thicket that remains hidden from most casual travelers. Upon first entering the area, the player encounters Gary and the Mythical Pokémon **Mew**. This encounter triggers a scripted battle where Mew appears at level 100. Following the interaction with Mew, the player is immediately confronted by two Team Rocket Grunts.
Upon successfully defeating the Grunts, the player is rewarded with a variety of berries and completes a unique story quest. This event also ensures that Mew is registered as "Seen" in the player's Pokédex.
