Battle Strategy
- Momentum Control: Kilowattrel’s most annoying tool is Volt Switch. It can deal significant damage and immediately swap out, making it difficult to pin down with a single counter.
- Status Resistance: It holds a Lum Berry, meaning your first attempt to paralyze or poison it to slow it down will be instantly cured. You must be prepared to apply status twice or use a high-damage approach.
- The Flinch Factor: Combined with its +2 Speed boost, Air Slash becomes a major threat, as it has a 30% chance to flinch your Pokémon before they can act.
- Sustainability: If you fail to knock it out quickly, Kilowattrel will use Roost to heal. Since it is part Flying-type, remember that using Roost makes it lose its Flying type for the remainder of the turn, potentially changing its weaknesses.
- Ground-type Advantage: Bringing a Ground-type is essential to absorb its Electric moves and block its ability to flee using Volt Switch.
