Boss Encounter: Unfezant

This encounter features a "Disruptive Tactician" strategy. Unfezant excels at forcing the player to play on its terms, using sleep-inducing moves and the Red Card to constantly shuffle the player's active Pokémon and ruin their setup.

Battle Strategy

  • Forced Switching: Unfezant holds a Red Card. The first time you deal damage to it, the Red Card will trigger and force your current Pokémon to switch out for a random teammate. This can be devastating if your lead was your primary counter or a setup sweeper.
  • The Sleep Threat: Hypnosis is its most dangerous utility move. If it lands, you'll be forced to switch or waste turns, giving Unfezant free turns to chip away at your team. Bring a Pokémon with the Insomnia or Vital Spirit ability to ignore this entirely.
  • Precision and Crits: Dual Wingbeat allows it to break through **Sturdy** or **Focus Sashes** by hitting twice, while Night Slash has an increased critical hit ratio, making it difficult to "wall" this boss with defensive boosts alone.
  • Secret Power Variance: Depending on the terrain, Secret Power can have various secondary effects (like paralysis or sleep). Be prepared for unpredictable status conditions during this fight.
