Swellow, the Swallow Pokémon, is a breathtakingly fast predator found within the Tumblecube region. Known for its dive-bombing maneuvers and impressive vocal power, it can deliver devastating sonic attacks before an opponent even realizes the battle has begun.

Boss Encounter: Swellow

This encounter features a "Glass Cannon" strategy. Swellow trades defensive utility for raw speed and overwhelming special power, utilizing a Choice Specs set that makes its sound-based attacks extremely dangerous to anything that doesn't resist them.

Battle Strategy

  • Boomburst Threat: Swellow's primary weapon is Boomburst. Backed by **Choice Specs**, this 140 base power Normal-type move hits incredibly hard. Sound-proof Pokémon or Rock/Steel/Ghost-types are highly recommended to absorb the hit.
  • Hit and Run: If Swellow feels threatened or is locked into an unfavorable matchup, it can use U-turn to pivot out while dealing chip damage, though the Choice Specs lock makes this a more predictable maneuver for the player to exploit.
  • The Flinch Factor: **Air Slash** provides a 30% flinch chance. Combined with Swellow’s natural speed and the +2 Boss boost, it can effectively "flinch-lock" slower Pokémon.
  • Counterplay: Since Swellow is locked into a single move due to its Choice Specs, switching into a Pokémon that resists its current move (like a Rock-type against Air Slash) can force it into a disadvantageous position.
