Celadon City is a sprawling metropolis located in central Kanto. As the largest city in the region, it serves as a major commercial and entertainment hub. It is home to the Grass-type Gym Leader, Erika, and the infamous Rocket Game Corner.

Points of Interest

Celadon Department Store

The largest retail facility in Kanto, offering a vast array of items across six floors:

  • 1F: Service Counter.
  • 2F: Trainer's Market.
  • 3F: TV Game Shop.
  • 4F: Wise Man Gifts.
  • 5F: Drugstore.
  • Rooftop Square: Vending Machines.

Rocket Game Corner & Prize Exchange

A prominent casino where players can play games to earn coins.

  • Prize Exchange: Located next door, where coins can be traded for rare Pokémon and TMs.
  • Secret Base: Rumors suggest a Team Rocket hideout is located beneath the facility.

Celadon Mansion

A large residential complex located in the northern part of the city.

  • 1F (Tea Grandma): A Grandma on the first floor will give the player the Tea item. This is a key item required to bypass the thirsty guards blocking the entrances to Saffron City.
  • Suites: Home to the Manager's Suite and the Game Freak Development Team.
  • Roof (Battle Tutor): Accessible via the back entrance, an NPC here teaches competitive moves.

Specialty Shops & Dining

  • Trading Card Store: A dedicated shop for purchasing Trading Cards for your binder.
  • Clothing Store: Offers a variety of cosmetic items for avatar customization.
  • Celadon Diner: A local restaurant where patrons often share rumors about the city's secrets.

Public Services

  • Pokémon Center:
    • Upstairs: Standard connectivity features.
    • Downstairs: Features the **Nurse Joy XP Training** area for efficient leveling.
  • Poké Mart: Standard shop for purchasing basic supplies.
  • Celadon Hotel: A luxury lodging facility (Note: No PC is available for public use here).

Special Mechanics

Saffron City Access

To enter Saffron City, the player must present the Tea to any of the Gate Guards. Once provided, the Guard will "share" the tea with the other guards across the region, permanently unlocking access through all city gates.

Softboiled Tutor Area

Located in a secluded part of the city accessible only by using Surf.

  • Feature: An NPC standing outside a locked building in this area will teach the move Softboiled to compatible Pokémon.
