Route 9 is a rocky route located in northeastern Kanto. It serves as the primary path for trainers traveling from Cerulean City toward the mountainous Route 10 and the entrance of Rock Tunnel.

Description

Route 9 is characterized by its uneven terrain, filled with numerous ledges that make westward travel difficult. Trainers must navigate through several rocky plateaus and patches of tall grass while battling various campers and hikers who frequent the area.

• Rocky Ledges: The route is designed with many one-way drops, requiring careful navigation to reach specific patches of grass.
• Pathway to Rock Tunnel: This route is the only way for trainers to reach the eastern coast of Kanto by land.
