Starter Roundup is an introductory quest in the Kanto region. After a minor mishap at the Pokémon Research Lab, several rare Pokémon intended for new trainers have escaped. The player is tasked with locating and safely returning them to Professor Oak.
Walkthrough
The Lab Incident
Upon visiting the Pokémon Lab in **Pallet Town**, Professor Oak informs the player that the lab's security was briefly compromised, allowing five specific Pokémon to wander out into the tall grass and surrounding areas of the town.
To prove their worth as a trainer, the player must track down and capture the following five Pokémon:
- **Bulbasaur**
- **Charmander**
- **Squirtle**
- **Pikachu**
- **Eevee**
Capturing the Escapees
The Pokémon can be found hiding in various corners of Pallet Town and the northern edge of Route 1. Unlike standard wild encounters, these Pokémon are specific targets for the quest and must all be in the player's possession to proceed.
Quest Rewards
Once all five Pokémon have been returned to the lab, Professor Oak expresses his gratitude for the player's assistance. As a reward for their diligence and care in handling the escaped Pokémon, the player is allowed to choose one of them to keep as their permanent partner.
- **Reward:** Choice between Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, or Eevee.
