Weather plays a significant role in Pokémon Everworld Online (PEO), influencing both the overworld environment and the conditions of wild Pokémon encounters. Weather patterns change based on an hourly vote in the Discord server.
Overworld Weather Types
PEO features several distinct weather systems, each providing unique atmospheric effects and competitive modifiers during battle.
- Clear: The standard weather state with no active modifiers.
- Sunlight: Increases the power of Fire-type moves and triggers certain abilities like Solar Power or Chlorophyll.
- Sandstorm: Damages non-Rock, Ground, or Steel-type Pokémon every turn and boosts the Special Defense of Rock-types.
Specialized Weather Variants
Certain weather systems in PEO have two distinct tiers of intensity, which can drastically alter the difficulty and mechanics of wild encounters.
Rain Systems
- Rainfall: Standard rain that boosts Water-type moves and weakens Fire-type moves.
- Rainstorm: A more intense version of rain. In addition to the standard rain effects, Rainstorms introduce an electric current during wild encounters, increasing the danger and tactical complexity of the fight.
Snow Systems
- Snow: A gentle winter weather that boosts the Defense of Ice-type Pokémon.
- Blizzard: A high-intensity variant of Snow that reduces visibility and often carries additional combat modifiers.
Weather Benefits
The new weather benefits introduce passive bonuses and active effects that trigger based on the current overworld weather. Most benefits (excluding Rain) persist for 30 minutes regardless of weather changes after the initial trigger.
Benefits Overview
| Weather | Trigger | Effect | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rain | Weather Change / Map Load | Automatically waters all planted berry plants on the map. | Instant |
| Snow | Weather Change / Map Load | Pokémon Eggs in the party hatch 1.5x faster. (50% chance for an extra step reduction per step). | 30 Minutes |

Impact on Wild Encounters
In PEO, overworld weather is not merely aesthetic. If a weather effect is active in the overworld when a player triggers a wild encounter, that weather condition will be automatically active at the start of the battle.
This allows players to strategically hunt for Pokémon that benefit from specific conditions (such as those with the Swift Swim or Slush Rush abilities) by waiting for the appropriate weather patterns to appear on a route.
