Known as the "Quiet Mountain Retreat," Blackthorn City is located in the northeast of the Johto region. It is famous for its deep-rooted dragon-taming traditions and serves as the final challenge for trainers seeking to enter the Indigo Plateau.
Buildings
Blackthorn City houses several essential locations for high-level trainers:
- Dragon's Den: A large subterranean cavern located behind the Gym. It serves as a training ground for Dragon-type masters and houses the Dragon Shrine.
- Move Deleter / Move Reminder’s House: A crucial stop for trainers looking to optimize their Pokémon's movesets by relearning forgotten techniques or deleting HMs.
- Pokémon Center & Poké Mart: Standard facilities located near the city entrance to support weary travelers arriving from the Ice Path.

Gym
The Blackthorn Gym is the eighth and final official Gym of the Johto League.
- Type Specialty: Dragon
- The Challenge: The Gym features puzzles involving floating platforms over lava pits.
- The Catch: Unlike other Leaders, Clair will not give you the Rising Badge immediately upon defeat. You must travel to the Dragon's Den and pass the "Test of the Dragon Master."
