Shiny Pokémon are rare color variants of Pokémon found in the wild, through breeding, or via special events. In Pokémon Everworld Online, these Pokémon are highly sought after not only for their aesthetic rarity but also for their superior competitive potential.
Mechanics and Odds
The hunt for a Shiny Pokémon is a test of patience. Understanding how each bonus works is important because rate multipliers and additional shiny rolls are not calculated in the same way.
- Base Shiny Rate: The standard chance of encountering a Shiny Pokémon is 1/4096.
- Shiny Charm: Gives two additional Shiny rolls, for three rolls in total. This improves the base odds to approximately 1/1366. A Shiny Charm lasts for 60 minutes, or 65 minutes for VIP players. Using another Charm adds more time.
- VIP Shiny Bonus: Players with active VIP status receive a 1.5x shiny bonus.
- PEO Shiny Weekends: Biweekly Shiny Hunting Weekends provide an additional 2x Shiny bonus.
- Sinnoh Underground: Collect 40 Underground Points from members of the Diglett family to activate a 15-minute 1.5x shiny bonus.
- Purchasable Server Wide Buff: When another player activates the server-wide shiny buff, everyone receives an additional 1.25x bonus.
- Topaz Gambler’s Dice: The Topaz Dice provides an additional Shiny bonus. It must be equipped through the Dice Bag to work.
- Number Battled Bonus: Battling many Pokémon of the same species can occasionally give extra Shiny rolls.
- IV Bonus: Shiny Pokémon have a significantly higher mathematical probability of possessing perfect Individual Values (IVs) compared to standard encounters.
- MAX Shiny odds: 1/4192 (Base odds) -> 1/2096(Shiny Charm) -> 1048(Shiny Weekends) -> 1/698(Vip Bonus) -> 1/558(server Wide-buff) -> 1/372 (Sinnoh Underground)
Sinnoh Underground Points
| Pokémon | Points |
|---|---|
| Diglett | 1 |
| Alolan Diglett | 2 |
| Dugtrio | 3 |
| Alolan Dugtrio | 4 |
Reaching 40 points activates the boost. Collecting another 40 points while it is already active adds another 15 minutes.
Number Battled Bonus
The Number Battled bonus is tracked separately for every species.
| Number battled | Chance to activate | Extra Shiny rolls |
|---|---|---|
| 0–49 | No bonus | 0 |
| 50–99 | 1.5% | 1 |
| 100–199 | 2% | 2 |
| 200–299 | 2.5% | 3 |
| 300–499 | 3% | 4 |
| 500+ | 3% | 5 |
At 500 or more battled, the five extra rolls activate on only 3% of encounters. They do not apply to every encounter.
When the bonus activates at 500+ battled:
- Without a Shiny Charm, the encounter has six total rolls.
- With a Shiny Charm, the encounter has eight total rolls.
- The bonus applies to wild encounters, not eggs.
Topaz Gambler's Dice
The Topaz Gambler's Dice can be combined with the Shiny Charm, VIP, Shiny Weekends, the Underground bonus, the server-wide buff, and the Number Battled bonus.
The Topaz Dice can be purchased for ₽1,000,000 from the special Dice merchant at:
- Two Island Game Corner
- Tine Casino in Port Tine
A Dice Bag is required before the merchant will sell Dice.
- An NPC in the Two Island Game Corner gives a Ticket Case, Dice Bag, and basic Gambler's Dice.
- An old man in Tine Casino sells a Dice Bag and basic Gambler's Dice for ₽50,000.
The Topaz Dice can also be won from the High-Roller's Lucky Dice Tower in Tine Casino.
| Option | Cost | Chance of Topaz Dice |
|---|---|---|
| One prize | 480 Casino Tickets | About 1/17 |
| Three prizes | 1,296 Casino Tickets | About 1/6 for at least one |
After obtaining the Topaz Dice, open the Dice Bag and select it as the active Dice.
Maximum Wild Odds
The approximate odds with each bonus added are:
| Active bonuses | Approximate odds |
|---|---|
| Base odds | 1/4096 |
| + Shiny Charm | 1/1366 |
| + Shiny Weekend | 1/683 |
| + VIP bonus | 1/455 |
| + Server-wide buff | 1/364 |
| + Sinnoh Underground bonus | 1/243 |
| + Topaz Gambler's Dice | 1/62 |
| + 500 battled for that species | 1/59 overall |
The best average odds for a normal wild encounter are approximately 1/59.
Most encounters at the maximum bonus level have odds of approximately 1/62. When the five extra Number Battled rolls activate, that encounter has odds of approximately 1/24. Because those extra rolls activate only 3% of the time, the overall average is approximately 1/59.
Breeding Odds
Breeding uses the same base Shiny odds. An active Shiny Charm gives each egg two additional Shiny rolls.
The Masuda Method cannot be used in PEO because the game is only available in English.
| Breeding method | Total rolls | Approximate odds |
|---|---|---|
| Normal egg | 1 | 1/4096 |
| Shiny Charm | 3 | 1/1366 |
Shiny Weekends, VIP, the server-wide buff, the Underground bonus, and the Topaz Dice can also improve breeding odds.
| Breeding method with every bonus active | Approximate odds |
|---|---|
| Normal egg | 1/186 |
| Shiny Charm | 1/62 |
The best available breeding odds are approximately 1/62 per egg. The Number Battled bonus does not affect eggs.
Shiny Pokémon and IVs
Being Shiny does not automatically give a Pokémon better IVs. PEO instead uses a separate same-species catch-combo bonus.
| Same-species catch combo | Guaranteed perfect IVs |
|---|---|
| 10–24 | HP and Attack |
| 25–49 | HP, Attack, and Defense |
| 50+ | HP, Attack, Defense, and Special Attack |
A Shiny Pokémon caught during a combo can receive these perfect IVs, but the bonus comes from the catch combo rather than from being Shiny.
Hunting Methods
While luck is the main factor, trainers typically use two methods to hunt Shiny Pokémon:
- Wild Encounters: The most common method involves running through tall grass or surfing in areas known to spawn the specific species you are looking for.
- Breeding: Hatching eggs at the Daycare. This is often preferred by trainers looking for specific Natures or Egg Moves in addition to the shiny coloration.
Everworld Originals
The Pokémon Everworld Online development team is constantly expanding the roster of available shinies. Their approach includes:
- Classic Replacements: Some traditional shiny palettes from the original games have been redesigned with custom Everworld colors to provide a fresh experience.
- Everworld Additions: New, unique shiny variants that exist alongside the classic versions, giving certain species multiple rare colorations to collect.
